The Best Crystals

for Each Chakra

What are the best crystals for each chakra?

What are Chakras?

The earliest written mention of chakras is found in ancient Indian texts describing the philosophy of yoga. This text known as the Vedas is thought to be thousands of years old and the concept of chakras has since evolved, influencing not only many current holistic healing practices but also various traditions in Hinduism and Buddhism.

Chakra is a Sanskrit word that translates to "wheel" or "disc". It is thought that this refers to the idea that our chakras are spinning wheels of energy. The chakras are part of a spiritual or psychic energy system in the astral body, connected by channels, that may also influence our physical body.

It is typically thought that our chakras live along the spine, from the base of the spine to the crown of your head. Depending on which practice or belief system you follow, the number of chakra centers may also differ but the 7-chakra system is the most common or well-known model.

What are the seven main energy centers?

What are Chakras Stones and How do Healing Stones Work?

Chakra stones are crystals with healing properties that align with the natural vibrational energy of a specific chakra. They are thought to help balance or unblock the chakras to help improve your overall well-being.

How to Choose the Right Chakra Stones?

When choosing chakra stones to work with you'll want to look for crystals that have the same energetic quality as the chakra when it is balanced. For example, if you wanted to work with crystal healing for your first chakra or Root Chakra, you would look for stones that are known to remove negative energy and possess grounding properties.

Each of the seven chakras also has a corresponding color. So you might start with finding a chakra stone that also has this hue. For example, many Crown Chakra crystals are clear or white as this chakra is represented by the color white.

The Root Chakra is also thought to influence our basic human urges and needs of food, sleep, and survival. The Root Chakra is represented by the color red and the element of Earth.

When this chakra is balanced or open, you will feel more confident in your ability to withstand any obstacles or challenges. When blocked or unbalanced, you make struggle with feeling solid, grounded, or unsure of yourself. You may struggle to trust your own intuition, develop suspicions of others, and generally feel on edge.

Hematite Palm Stone, one of the Root Chakra Stones

Deposits of Hematite will turn a reddish brown as they oxidize. This seemingly magical color change may account for some of the legends about the stone. For example, some believed that the stone would preserve the blood or life essence of fallen warriors in battle.

Most effective for grounding oneself in the body and the physical world, Hematite is the perfect stone to help an unbalanced Root Chakra. Thought to pull stray energies down through the chakra system to the root or base chakra and counteract any spaciness or confusion you may be experiencing.

It may aid in bringing about the resolution of polarities and neutralizing negative energy. Hematite is the perfect Root Chakra stone for people who struggle with quieting an overactive mind and staying present.
