With a name that hails from the Amazon River in Brazil, this stone has been an important part of cultures of old, including ancient Jews, ancient Egyptians (it’s found everywhere from King Tut’s tomb to the Egyptian Book of the Dead), and the perhaps-mythical-maybe-not ancient Amazonian warrior tribe. Amazonite is believed to be a powerful amulet, tempering aggression, soothing anxiety, and bringing the truth to any situation.
