Peridot is a magnesium-iron silicate mineral. It ranges in color from olive to lime green. During the 3,000 years that humans have mined Peridot, it has served many purposes, from jewelry to protective talismans and decorations. This “gem of the sun” is said to possess the power to prevent night terrors, ward off evil spirits, increase wealth, and attract (gasp!) fairies.
