ABOUT ETHIOPIAN OPAL
PERCEIVE • AMPLIFY • PROTECT
This gemstone is made of mostly silica and is classified as a mineraloid, a naturally occurring mineral-like substance that doesn't have a crystalline structure. Ethiopian Opals are hydrophane Opals that are created by volcanic activity, forming in between layers of the igneous rock, Rhyolite. 'Hydrophane' means 'water-loving' in Greek and describes how these Opals tend to absorb water. Ethiopian Opal is best known for its use as an emotional intensifier that will enhance the wearer's true nature.
