 Meteorites are stones of extraterrestrial origin that survived traveling through Earth's atmosphere, a rare feat. Each day thousands of meteors collide with Earth but most burn up before they ever touch the ground. There are three main types of meteorites, metallic Nickel-Iron Meteorites, stony Chrondites, and latticed Pallasites. In ancient times, Nickel-Iron Meteorites were used to make weapons. Excalibur, the fabled sword of King Arthur, was said to have been made from metal-rich meteorite.
