Aquamarine Meaning

Calm • Clarity • Courage

Aquamarine is a blue or green variety of Beryl. It has a hardness of 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs Hardness Scale. Records of its use in Ancient Greece go back to 300 or 500 B.C. Its name comes from the Latin meaning "water of the sea" because of its oceanic blue-green color. In ancient lore, it was believed to be a treasure of mermaids that sailors used for good luck, courage, and protection while at sea. It has a calming effect that can reduce anxieties without making you feel sleepy or lose focus.

Due to the nature of our products each piece is unique and therefore varies in shape and size. Our sizing of the stones is a close approximation.
